You can feel it in the air (literally and figuratively) – brisk, crisp weather is here. The days are almost much gone where you need to prepare for being frigid in the morning, but extra toasty by the afternoon. Dressing for colder weather can sometimes being a struggle, especially when it comes to combining style with staying warm, but we are up for the challenge! I’m prepared to assemble my “cold weather wardrobe,” and I’ve been searching through Pinterest for cold weather outfits inspo too.
I’m excited to layer with peacoats, scarves, and sweaters. There’s something about a chunky sweater that makes you feel even that much more cozy. And this Dip Dye Sweater from Gypsy Warrior is one of my absolute favorites.
I love to layer; it’s where fashion meets functionality. You’ll stay warm while combining different clothing elements to create a killer look. And a jacket is the shell, if you will, to contain everything together. This bomber jacket from Abound (also pictured below) is my favorite, and I’m hoping I can get away with wearing that as an overcoat for a few more weeks.
And there’s nothing like a great pair of booties, like the ones below from Vince Camuto. I have a terrible tendency to destroy nearly every pair of boots and booties I own every winter, so I need sturdy shoes. :p
Everyone looks good in a beanie. I recently had this discussion with a friend, that beanies look good on everyone and they’re a great addition to any outfit. I don’t remember where I purchased by favorite beanie from (pictured below), but I encourage purchasing one from Love Your Melon, which supports children battling cancer. Plus, a beanie is a great holiday gift.
Other things I need to invest in this winter: a faux fur jacket, several turtlenecks, and, I can’t emphasize this enough, reliable boots. What winter staples are you most looking forward to wearing?
