You Should Go & Love Yourself

Unlike the Biebs, I don’t mean the title of this post in a sarcastic tone. I mean it very sincerely, in fact – you should go and show yourself some love. <3 It’s a pretty crazy time we’re living in right now, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with work, school, world events – just life. We often forget to check in on ourselves; I have to remind myself it’s more than OK to take time for myself and that it’s not selfish to take care of myself. When I’m relaxed, refreshed and replenished, I’m my best self. And when I’m my best self, I’m better to those around me.

It’s important to check in with yourself, and with Valentine’s Day around the corner…

care

I’ve written posts in the past about how to decompress and how creating your own zen and comfy environment has wonderful benefits. I wanted to create a bit of an updated post with how I “self-care”.

The hygge lifestyle, living a life that encompasses all this joyous, cozy, and pleasant, is making it’s way from its origins in Denmark to the States, and in a way, it’s a form of self-care. Whether it’s “practiced” by lighting a scented candle, drinking a cup of tea or wrapping yourself in a blanket, hygge can be a comforting and cozy way to unwind.

Here are some ways I like to take care of myself:

What’s going on in your life now? How do you “self-care”?

Happy Valentine’s Day, love you all <3

This is a great post Camille! Self love and self care so absolutely vital to being a wholesome and healthy person. We get so caught up in our lives that we forget to take care of ourselves. This week, I’m going on a “self date” as a way to unplug and do my own thing. Keep up the great work lady! We’re all part of the self love revolution! 🙂

Great post Camille! Self care and self love are vital to being a wholesome and healthy person. Often times, we get so caught up in the external parts of our lives that we actually forget we are the center of it all! And that’s not to say go ahead and be self centered, but more a reminder that if you’re not taken care of, your life will always feel hectic and unrewarding.

This week, I’m taking myself on a “self date” for Valentine’s Day as a little way to unplug and focus on myself. 🙂 Love the work you’re doing. Keep being a part of the self love revolution lady! 😉

Love this post! Self Care is the best care. The Sanctuary Model taught me that.

Thanks so much! <3 I'm not familiar with the Sanctuary Model, I'll have to check that out!

It was created my Dr. Sandra Bloom. It’s a treatment model used to build resilience after trauma. I blog all about it.

Checking out your blog right now, thank you!

No problem! The Sanctuary information is under “The Bleues” tab in the values and principles pages.

Tea and Real Simple magazine is how I take care of myself. I’m amazed about how this little change once a month has helped my mental health.

I have so much to do with the family and the blog that I always forget to check in on myself and to love myself. Thank you for the reminder that it’s okay to do so!

Self care is essential and every day it is different. Some days self care is a bath and others it is time away from home alone to just feel free from responsibility. I love that song by the Biebs though. LOL

LOL SAME! It’s such a jam. But yes, totally agree, every day is different. It’s definitely about getting what we’re needing at that moment <3

Showing yourself a little love can go a long way. You can get so stuck in the rut and routine of life that you totally forget that you deserve some down time and spoiling.

I’ve been putting off ‘loving myself’ for the last year now and just recently snapped back out of it (or into it??) and realized I need to start putting myself first! Thanks for sharing!
