Aboard The Deck at the Moshulu

Is there anything better during the summer than sitting outside enjoying a cold beverage? *Plot twist.* There is something better in fact, and that’s sitting outside enjoying a cold beverage while on the oldest and largest four-masted Tall Ship in the world. For you Philly folks, you’ve probably figured out what iconic restaurant I’m talking about. But for the out-of-towners, meet the Moshulu.

The Moshulu on Penn’s Landing is a Philadelphia landmark and is the perfect place for a romantic date or to celebrate a special event. But for a more relaxed evening, their recently opened The Deck is definitely the way to go. My best friend Katie and I were recently invited to stop by to check out The Deck and to indulge in their amazing menu.

I have to give a special shoutout to Katie for the amazing Positive Publicity clutch she got for me, pictured below. <3

Let’s climb aboard, shall we?

As soon as you walk up the stairs, you’re transported to a nautical scene, surrounded by lush plants, couches and lounge chairs. It’s not too hard to immediately feel relaxed. We were given a tour of the massive area, where you really can have your pick of amazing city views while sipping on your drink.

After we were seated, it wasn’t long until the most beautiful sight appeared – a jug of red sangria. If you’re like us and are a sangria fan, you’ll want to go ahead and order yourself a jug. The Deck gives the option to order a jug of sangria based on the number of people in your party. Trust me when I say this was the perfect amount for two people! 😉 There are many cocktail and drinks options, some complete with a Popsicle in the glass.

Their menu is sure to please any diner – it was struggle to pick a meal! We began with calamari, and for dinner Katie went with the prime rib burger while I went with delicious California rolls.

And then there’s the true reason to have stuck around for this post – The Chocolate Tasty Shake. Fully stacked with soft pretzels and peanut butter Tasty Cakes, this is an absolute Philadelphia foodie dream. Rounding out this perfection in the form of a milkshake are three other sweet shake selections. And how awesome to have Positive Publicity written out in chocolate (my ultimate dream)? Our waitress was seriously the best.

But wait – there’s more! The Deck also hosts a ton of events, from live music to work out classes. There’s even an outdoor Soul Cycle class taking place here Katie and I are planning on going to!

So for perfect Philadelphia skyline views, outdoor fun, amazing food, and the thrill of being on a boat, look no further than The Deck! There’s still plenty of summer left to lounge and relax after work or on the weekends at The Deck.

Massive thanks to The Deck for having us aboard and for showing us a great time!

Yay for Philly bloggers!!! I was just at Spruce Street Harbor Park 2 weeks ago and passed this boat…and me and my friends had a debate about how to pronounce it. “Mo-SHU-lu” or “MOOO-sha-lu” hahaha
