Philly Finds Vol. 2

Hellooooo everyone, and welcome back to the second edition of Philly Finds! It’s been two days since Thanksgiving and all I’ve done is slept, eaten and caught up with my favorite YouTubers and bloggers (not that I’m complaining one bit). But I thought it might be a good idea to be just a bit productive with this free time. So sit back, relax and check out some Philly finds, including an underrated (in my opinion) Philly holiday option.

Walnut Street Cafe – I recently went to the fairly new University City brunch spot a few weekends ago and was seriously impressed. I ordered the Khachapuri (pictured below) and WOW, that alone is enough reason to go back. Walnut Street Cafe most certainly will be added to my Philadelphia Brunch Guide (I’m thinking of doing a updated one soon), and I’ll definitely be returning for dinner soon!

Lady Bird at The Ritz East – Although the movie itself isn’t exclusive to Philly, it’s a great chance to see a fantastic film in a classic Philadelphia venue. Starring the incredible Saoirse Ronan, Laurie Metcalf and Beanie Feldstein, among the rest of the stellar cast, it’s a poignant and funny coming-of-age film. The Greta Gerwig-directed movie is also extremely relatable for anyone who a.) went to Catholic school b.) did musical theater (both like myself). It earned a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes and it’s easy to see why. It’s a great way to spend a weekend afternoon or for a date night!

Philly Holidays – The holidays in Philly are already in full swing. You can see the Rittenhouse Square Christmas tree light-up this week on November 28, visit East Passyunk to see the stunning lights on 13th street or enjoy the Christmas Village at Dilworth Park, among other things. Last year, I blogged about one of the coolest Philly tours I’ve ever taken – a tour of the historic Wanamaker Building. I highly recommend doing this, which ends with admiring the Macy’s Light Show. Tours take place Monday – Friday and cost $12; visit this link for more details.

Finally, here are some Philly Instagrams/blogs/links to check out!

Let’s see, what else… I’m headed to the newly opened The Love. this week for dinner, and I will let you know all of my thoughts in the next Philly Finds!

A few more things: I’m thinking of doing some posts related to career advice – would you guys be interested in these posts? Let me know! And finally, with the hectic holidays around the corner, I’m thinking of taking a bit of a blogging/social media break. So if I go MIA next month, that’s why!
