Long Beach Island Getaway with Fearless Restaurants

SKY GARDENlos angeles, caseptember 30, 20197;00 pm

I’ve been going down the Jersey shore my entire life, but I’ve never been to Long Beach Island, NJ. That all changed this past week when Fearless Restaurants hosted a group of Philadelphia/NJ bloggers for a fun overnight stay in beautiful LBI. This was also my first overnight stay for my blog, and I couldn’t have been more excited.

Fearless Restaurants operates some of my most favorite restaurants in Philly, like White Dog Cafe, The Moshulu and Autograph. So you could say that I was just a little bit excited to check out their restaurants in LBI, which includes Plantation, Tuckers Tavern, and Daddy O Hotel and Restaurant, where we were staying.

It was time to check into Daddy O Hotel in Brant Beach, which has a 1960s feel to it. There were bikes available to rent and I should definitely mention they offer PRIV services.

I checked into my room, where I was greeted by this beautiful sight on the wall.

Speaking of the garden bar… We ventured downstairs to enjoy some beautifully crafted cocktails before heading off to dinner. I enjoyed the Queen Anne’s Revenge, pictured below, which has a spicy kick to it.

It was then time to head off to Plantation in Harvey Cedars for dinner, which has been recently renovated. There is live music throughout the week and acoustic artists on the weekends there.

There’s truly nothing better than being surrounded by great conversation over delicious drinks and food. The Spicy Scoundrel cocktail was the perfect way to kick-off the incredible meal we were about to dig into.

What can I say about our meal?! The shrimp was everything I could ever want in a seafood appetizer. The highlight was the halibut and gnocchi special – delicious. I could have licked the bowl clean (I’m pretty sure I did just that).

The next morning we had time to explore the island. I enjoyed a bagel breakfast before taking a morning walk on the beach and around the town. Daddy O is just a quick walk away from the beach – very ideal.

I also visited Barnegat Lighthouse, which my new friend at NJ Isn’t Boring explained is one of the most photographed spots in Jersey. I snapped the shots below just before I left the island.

Before I knew it, it was time for lunch back at Daddy O, before I unfortunately had to head on out before the rest of the group for a prior engagement. Daddy O defines its food as elevated beach food – and that it certainly is. We snacked on mussels in wine white sauce, tuna tartar and shrimp tacos. Absolute heaven. Even if you’re not staying at Daddy O while in LBI, you should definitely stop by for lunch or dinner at Daddy O. What more could you ask for down the shore?

Thank you for an incredible beach getaway, Fearless! It’s a trip I won’t soon forget.
