First off, I’ll have to ask – how have you been spending and managing your time?

I mean, I organised my sock drawer today. And I’ve set myself the target of getting dressed at some point tomorrow so pretty well really 🙂

No, in all seriousness I’ve mainly been filling my time with music making, be it videos or new writing projects. It’s a difficult time for everyone right now but the musical community (much like other communities around the world) is really pulling together. I’ve recorded some songs remotely with people from different parts of the country and I keep in touch with my followers via live streams – never have I been so grateful for the Internet.

Has being London-bred played an important role in your music?

To be honest, not really – I’ve led a somewhat nomadic life so far and I draw inspiration from everywhere I go and have been – those are the experiences that have really shaped my songs.

Can you tell us about the creation of Empty Pockets, Crowded Heart Vol.1? What was that process like for you?

It was an amazing experience. This record has been in the making for a little while. Funnily enough I had what I thought was a finished album a year ago, but so much happened to me in the interim I kinda went on a writing bender – and most notably a majority of the songs on the album were written within two weeks in Los Angeles this January… barely even 8 weeks old! I’ve met some amazing people along the way and worked with some truly talented Musicians and writers and producers too – I’m a lucky guy.  I’ve seen a lot of the world through my music, it’s been a rollercoaster, but one I’m sure to ride again and again.

What I’ve learnt, what I’ve seen, what I’ve felt – the adventure, the romance, the loss, the heartbreak. The honesty. Putting this record out into the world means everything to me, without being melodramatic this isn’t just a bunch of songs – to me it’s so much more than that.
