2022 in review πŸ‡

Welcome to your Positive Publicity wrapped?

No, no I wouldn’t subject you to yet another “wrapped” list this year. I did almost skip this end-of-year blog post I’ve been enjoying writing at the end of December. But it just didn’t feel like I could go into this new year if I didn’t write a little something about the year behind and the year ahead.

For most, I would venture to say that the promise of January’s return after the holiday season is pretty unwelcome. And I am no exception to this feeling, as my birthday is in January as well. I feel almost doubly hit with feelings of ennui, languor, and apathy. It’s giving woman in the Victorian era on her chaise lounge, bored of her mundane life. It’s giving one of my favorite paintings by Elin Danielson-Gambogi. It’s giving something alright.

Last year I shared a post about my 2021, which I consider to have been a year of growth and healing. The theme for 2022? Well, to be completely honest with you, not much has changed throughout 2022. I feel like didn’t experience a huge awakening of some sort or major catastrophic event (thank god). The only thing I can say with certainty though is that I really liked this year. I know – not the most compelling or groundbreaking prose. It’s just so much better when you’re tormented!

It was a good year. A fine year, in fact. I was able to travel to places like Lake Tahoe, turned 30, worked with brands I love, booked new photography jobs, yada yada. With of course the endless pursuit of wanting “more” in life, I have to say that I am content. I’m actually really happy. And there’s so much I’m looking forward to (like welcoming some new babiessss soon!!), while being serene in the current moment that I’m in.

I came across a post on writer/reporter Rachel Syme‘s Instagram the other day, which was of her “in” list of 2023. She inspired me to make my own (below), and also jot down a few New Years Resolutions:

What’s your ‘in’ list for 2023?

And that’s all I’ve got for now! I hope you’ll consider this my 2022 appreciation letter, and my well wishes to you for a beautiful, healthy, abundant and incredible 2023. There is a tradition in Spain and Latin America of eating 12 grapes at midnight (las doce uvas de la suerte), to welcome luck and abundance into the new year. So whether you have grapes in front of you at midnight or not, consider everything that you’re going to bring with you and let go of this year. I hope you get absolutely everything you want this year, and then some.

Thank you for reading and for your continued support for this little Internet corner. Catch you in 2023. <3 Oh, and book yourself a massage. You’ve earned it.
