Welcome back to Philly Finds – we’re just gonna hop right into it. 😊
My current mission: Superfoile opened yesterday, and I’m hoping to stop by sometime next week.
I’m veryyyyy excited to be checking out one of my favorite annual events this week – the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s The Flower Show. This year’s theme is Electric Garden, and from all of the photos I’ve seen so far, it looks absolutely incredible. It ends this Sunday, 3/12, so go while you still can!
SIX at the Academy of Music March 21-April 9
I believe I’ve mentioned here before how much I love the musical SIX, based on the six wives of Henry VIII – Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr. And if you’ve been wanting to see it, you’re in luck – it’s coming to the Academy of Music March 21-April 9, 2023. I really think this is a great show to see for someone who’s not a musical theater lover. It’s only one act, it’s extremely fun, and honestly it’s more like a pop concert than a Broadway musical. Listen to the soundtrack here to get yourself hype.

Hampton Water Event at the Moshulu
When: Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from 6-7:30 pm
Where: Moshulu, 401 Christopher Columbus Blvd., Philadelphia
Ticket info: Tickets are $50 and can be purchased here

Guests are invited to enjoy Bongiovi’s Hampton Water Rosé, small bites, an intimate meet and greet with Jesse, and the opportunity to win a guitar signed by Jon Bon Jovi! Tickets are required and include a Hampton Water Rosé hat that can be signed by Jesse Bongiovi, a raffle ticket to enter to win the autographed guitar, small bites, and a glass of Hampton Water Rosé. Hampton Water captures the spirit shared between the Hamptons and the South of France: enjoying life and a good bottle of wine to share with friends. I’ll see ya there!
I’ve had Grace and Proper on my radar since it opened back this past fall, and finally paid a visit of the weekend. My friend and I really enjoyed our experience and meal there. The Portuguese-inspired bar is cozy and intimate, the type of place to go to on a Friday bite for a yummy bite, a divine cocktail and a candlelit atmosphere. You know, I’ve always been jealous of New York City and their abundance of small, cozy bars on every street. Grace and Proper feels like that.
For a brunch cocktail, I order the Bloody Mary with mezcal, and oh my god?? Each sip was more perfect than the next, just the perfect amount of spice. We also ordered the meatballs, pickled carrots (another favorite, trust me), the tomato pinsa, and charcuterie.
What else you need to know? No reservations, walk-in only, and you order at the bar.

This one is very much a “how am I just finding out about this now???” spot. Located just off of South Street is the utterly delightful Worm’s Emporium art and design mall. Whimsical accessories, artwork and home furnishings galore. Everything in the shop felt very much my home décor style (re: my Pinterest home board). It looks like the shop opened back in June, and I only wish I had stumbled upon it sooner!
Another favorite shop I want to shout out is YOWIE, where I purchased one of these beauts.

Newly opened on 16th and Callowhill is Bison Coffee, serving up caffeinated goodness in a well-lit, industrial space. It’s the perfect weekend café, when you just need the strongest cup of coffee and everything bagel to revive you.

For your Philly-made provisions needs, Salt and Vinegar is the place to go. Located in the Italian Market, Salt and Vinegar sells all local goods, from Fishtown Pickle Project and Reveal, to Franklin and Whitman and Evie’s Snacks. And based on the shop’s set-up, I’m assuming it was previously a deli, which gives it additional charm.
Talk soon! 💜
