HAPPY SUMMER! Soooo it’s been about a month since my last post (whoops), but it’s been a busy and fun month, which has consisted of weekends at the Jersey Shore, Firefly music festival, and planning for a very special trip I’m taking next month. I hope you guys are having an awesome summer and that you have some fun things planned for the weeks ahead. 🙂

Even though it’s the end of July, there is still so much of summer left to celebrate. And with that summer celebrating, there comes the summer beauty routine. It has taken me some time to perfect my daily skin routine, let alone a summer routine. As someone with acne-prone and oily skin, it took a lot of trial and error for me to understand what works (and what doesn’t work) for my skin. And as the seasons change and summer rolled around, I found that I had to adjust my routine for the summer months.

Our skin is exposed to the sun and other elements more now than during any other time of the year, so it only makes sense to switch things up a bit. So today, I’m teaming up with Dollar Shave Club to chat about the ideal summer skincare routine and some of their excellent products.

Right off the bat, we have to talk about shaving. Between the sun, swimming, and sweat, your skin goes through a lot in the summer, and you only want the best when it comes to your razor. Dollar Shave Club has an awesome selection of premium razors that are gentle on your skin – because the last thing you want on sun-kissed skin is an inferior razor.

Now onto face…this Dead Sea Mud Mask from Pure Body Naturals has been one of my skin care staples for a few months now. After weekend at the beach, this is the perfect way to pamper yourself and treat your skin on a Sunday evening.

Now this next product is a bit unconventional: it’s literally a tin of flowers, and it’s amazing. This Herbal Steam from Fig + Yarrow purifies, hydrates and cleanses your pores, with the assistance of some hot water. You can even use the water once your done cleansing your face in a bath. Total body hydration.

Lush’s Tea Tree Water is my new favorite summer product. I asked a Lush employee for her recommendation for a face cleanser to use while I was at Firefly Music Festival, and I’m so glad she suggested the tea tree water. It refreshes your skin without drying it out, and a few spritz in the morning really wakes you up.

Obviously protecting your skin from the sun is beyond important, especially in the summer, and it’s important to use a sunscreen or moisturizer with SPF every day. Dollar Shave Club has an great selection of moisturizers and lip balms with SPF perfect for every day use.

I’m currently using this vegan sunscreen from Sun Bum and loving it. And just like Sun Bum, Lush, and Fig +Yarrow,  Dollar Shave Club is also cruelty-free.

Everyone’s skin is different and routines will differ from person-to-person, but you’ll be so happy once you figure out your summer skin routine.
