Some people love summer, some feel completely oppositely. Much like the 1950s movie, some like it hot, others, not so much. I tend to fall somewhere in between – I’m not a huge fan of summer, but I also don’t despise it. But this summer has been very different – I’ve been loving every second of it. Between a trip here and there, blasting Lorde and Dua Lipa on repeat, concerts and spending time with friends (plus Real Housewives of Orange County is finally back), it’s been a pretty solid summer so far, and I want to share what I’ve been up to and some stuff I’ve been loving. I also really enjoy doing posts like this as a way for me to record memories so I’ll be able to look back on them the future. So, here we go!
A little photoshoot inspired by one of my favorite Insta accounts, Wall Traveled, in Old City at The Painted Bride:

I recently came back from a trip to Montréal – you can read all about that here!
Fourth of July weekend was spent in lovely Old Saybrook, Connecticut with friends. My friend Grace’s mom Karen has the most cozy, beautiful home there and is the most amazing host ever. I totally recommend a weekend away in Old Saybrook – it’s the perfect summer (or fall) getaway and is an easy train ride from Philly or New York.

I’m a massive musical theater fan. I love seeing shows (and being in shows 😉 ), and one of the best – if not the best – musical theater experiences I’ve ever had was seeing Hello Dolly! with the Divine Miss M herself, Bette Midler and the hysterical David Hyde Pierce. If you are able to snag tickets before Bette ends her run as the title character, do it. It’s an incredible production and is worth every penny.
The 1975 is one of my favorite bands ever, and seeing them at Madison Square Garden back in June was life-changing. I saw them with fellow massive fan, my friend Erin, and we were truly changed women.
I recently finished reading The Talk Funny Girl by Roland Merullo – a must, must read. Grab yourself a copy or download it on your Kindle (is that how Kindle works??) and enjoy.
Some of my favorite summer skin products from Sun Bum, Lush and True Formulation. Your skin will thank you, plus they’re all cruelty-free:
Tonight I’m going seeing the queens of Season 9 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and I CANNOT wait! AND Game of Thrones comes back tomorrow night, so be prepared for that to be all I tweet about for the coming weeks. There’s also some fun things coming up on the blog, so be sure to stick around.
What’s been the best part of your summer so far?
Have a wonderful weekend! <3
