How To Spend Your Snow Day

If luck should have it that your classes have been canceled or you’re off from work due to the white stuff falling from the sky, you’ll have an entire day to spend how you please. Snow days are the perfect day to relax, get things done, or do a mix of both things. Here’s my list of your ‘Snow Day To-Dos,” perfect for those who love a productive day, and those who just need Netflix and some blankets.

Make yourself a nice breakfast/brunch. As Tom Haverford and Donna Meagle would say, treat yo self. My favorite breakfast to make is avocado toast, which is delicious and pretty easy. Spread avocado, onions, sprinkled cheese and red pepper on two slices of whole wheat toast, and if you’re feeling extra bold, add two poached eggs on top. I like to add sriracha sauce for spice. Yummy & filling!

Blog away. Is there a topic or experience you’ve been meaning to write about but haven’t gotten around to it yet? Well make yourself an epic cup of hot chocolate, get cozy, and get blogging.

Get organized. There’s something that’s so satisfying about getting organized. Maybe you’ve been thinking about clearing out your closet and donating clothes to Goodwill, while simultaneously color-coordinating your wardrobe. Today’s the perfect day to do it.

Pamper. Try out a new face mask that you can make at home, paint your nails, or finally use that bath bomb you received during the holidays.

Catch up. Whether it’s Skyping with a friend who might also be free, finishing that book, or finally listening to that podcast or documentary everyone’s been raving about, catch up on things that you’ve been meaning to.

Did someone say Netflix? Step 1: Log into Netflix. Step 2. Don’t leave bed. It’s as simple as that. Naps are highly encouraged.

Do good. Help shovel a neighbor’s driveway or sidewalk or make a meal for a family member or friend.

If you’re feeling adventurous and are going stir-crazy, the old standards of sledding and snowman building are for you. If you’re continuing to feel adventurous but aren’t up for the outdoors, I suggest logging on to Pinterest and trying out a new craft or recipe, that hopefully won’t result into a #PinterestFail. There’s nothing better than baking on a snowy day.

I wish you the warmest and hopefully less stressful snow day possible as we prepare for this snowstorm that’s headed our ways xx
