What’s On Philadelphia: Spruce Street Harbor Park

Imagine relaxing on a hammock, ice cream cone in hand with multi-colored lights surrounding you, all while you enjoy the view of ships docking in a harbor. Welcome to Spruce Street Harbor Park, the latest (and free) summer attraction in Philadelphia. Practically every Philadelphian and Philly-suburbian knows about Spruce Street Harbor since it opened last year, and you’ll see them flocking there on a beautiful summer night.

It certainly is a busy and exciting time in Philadelphia, with the Pope visiting and Queen Bey headlining the Made in America Festival, both happening this September. Philadelphia is definitely the place to be and last year’s addition of the Spruce Street Harbor Park makes it all that more tempting to visit.

There’s countless things to do at SSHP, from playing a game of bocce, paddle boating, playing in the arcade, enjoying a craft brew or having a delicious meal on the floating restaurant (yes, this exists). Friends and I spent the night here over the weekend and had an amazing time eating chicken tacos and relaxing in Adirondack chairs.

And in case you’re still not convinced to check it out, I’m just going to leave this video here and let it speak for itself:
