Have you ever fallen in love with a store/product and can’t get enough of it, where it gets to the point where you frequent their website (or store) on a daily basis? That is me with Lush right now – I simply can’t get enough. I recently ordered several Lush products and holiday boxes for Christmas gifts (which aren’t featured in this post), and purchased some goodies in-store, and my room smells quite heavenly at the moment. So with the holidays coming up, I thought it might be appropriate to write a Lush post with products I really enjoy to help with your holiday shopping for your friends, family (and even yourself).
Before I really get into this post, I need to ask if anyone else enjoys watching YouTube videos of Lush hauls and product reviews…because I’ve just spent the past hour watching Zoella and other YouTubers with their Lush products. The obsession is too real.
If you’re not familiar with Lush and its products, everything is fresh, organic, cruelty-free, and charitable. I personally enjoy making a trip to a Lush store and seeing the rainbow array of all of the products in person, along with interacting with the always helpful and friendly Lush employees. I think it’s an all around great shopping experience.
I recently stopped by the Lush Philadelphia location, where a most friendly Lush employee helped me find the perfect gifts for people on my list, as well as a divine hand cream for myself. The Philadelphia location also features the Lush Spa, which I believe is one of two Lush spas in North America. You can definitely expect me to book an appointment there soon.
I’ll start off with my new favorite product, the Herbalism cleanser. The scent is a bit hard to describe, but the best I can say is it’s a minty-earthy fragrance, which I personally enjoy, along with its’ vibrant green color. If you have trouble skin, this cleanser is for you. To use: mix a pea-sized amount of the cleanser with a tiny bit of water in the palm of your hand, and immediately massage on your face. I’ve been using it once a day for two days, and already I’m seeing fantastic results.
Next, the cleverly titled Mint Julips lip scrub, which is perfect for the winter time, when lips tend to become chapped and dry. You simply dip a clean finger into the pot and spread across your lips. It’s packed with “fresh peppermint and sweet castor sugar,” which is quite good because you can actually eat this product once you’re done using. This is a great product to add to your make-up routine, to ensure your lip stick looks great. I usually apply a bit chapstick after exfoliating with the lip scrub, and then apply my favorite lip stick.
Next, moving onto Bath Bombs, which are the perfect stocking stuffers. I recently used the lovely Pink Bath Bomb, which is fragranced with “tonka bean, neroli, and the sweetness of vanilla absolute.” I absolutely love the color and scent of this bath bomb. (Fun fact: the Pink bath bomb is actually the header photo of this blog!) While I haven’t used every single one of Lush’s bath bombs to compare, I would still recommend this.
Finally, the Space Girl bath bomb. This bath bomb is now a few months old, and is well past the suggested use-by date. I unfortunately didn’t see this bath bomb on my recent trip to Lush this week or online, but I still wanted to share with you in case it comes back in the future. (I’ve since learn it’s been discontinued, whomp!) Like I said, I did use this bath bomb well after the suggested use-by date, but I was so pleasantly surprised to see how well the scent maintained and how well it fizzed when dropped in the water. If you are able to get your hands on this, I highly recommend it – both the scent and color were quite lovely and refreshing.
So those are my favorite products that I’ve recently purchased, and that I highly recommend to use. I’ll probably make another trip to Lush soon, so please let me know which products are your favorite and what I need to try out!
