It’s not too hard to find a restaurant in New York City that’s fun, trendy and funky, but sometimes you come across a place that deserves a special shoutout. Minimalistic designs and fresh, healthy foods come together at Dimes in New York City. Here, you’ll find the trendiest of New Yorkers eagerly waiting for a table to dine on açaí bowls and much more; we even spotted Dakota Johnson walking out as we were waiting for our table.
In a Refinery29 interview, Dimes co-founder Sabrina De Sousa is quoted as saying, “The Dimes customer cares about staying healthy while not limiting themselves from an occasional indulgence,” and that definitely came across in our meal. I enjoyed the salmon plate, while also stealing a spoonful of an açaí bowl from my friends (thanks guys <3). The tea selection was also impressive, and my latte was just perfect. The idea that healthy foods don’t leave you feeling full did not apply at Dimes, and we left extremely satisfied with our meals.

Here’s an inside look into Dimes – it’s a bit of a tight squeeze, and you may be rubbing elbows with your neighbor, but the food is so worth it!
As Dimes does not take reservations, be prepared to wait a bit – it will be bustling and surrounded by hungry brunchers. Aside from the slightly cramped quarters and a relatively short wait, I enjoyed the Dimes atmosphere, and the food was excellent. And as far as a healthy meal in NYC goes, we were pretty happy with our bill!
