My 2021 CCD Restaurant Week

If you haven’t already, please subscribe to my weekly newsletter, Why Don’t You Cry About It? Here, you’ll find your dose of pop culture, with recaps of reality shows, music, social media commentary and more. You can also subscribe to Positive Publicity for all things Philly (head to the home page on the right hand side to do so).

Another Center City Restaurant Week has come and gone *sigh*. If you’re not familiar with Restaurant Week, let’s do a quick recap.

Restaurant Week actually lasts two weeks, and is a great way to try new restaurants and support businesses. Dozens of restaurants across the city participate, so there’s an array of cuisine to enjoy,

Prix-fixe meals at participating restaurants range from:

I believe Restaurant Week happens twice a year (correct me if i’m wrong). I recommend following Center City District on social so you can prepare your reservations well in advance, so you won’t have to experience the “It’s restaurant week???” moment (we’ve all been there).

Here’s a recap of my CCD Restaurant Week:

BARBUZZO

Where: Gayborhood, 110 S 13th St, Philadelphia, PA 19107

Get your fix of Mediterranean bites.

The weather simply called for Aperol spritz
Whipped ricotta and fresh bread
You cannot go wrong with the Caciocavallo stuffed meatballs, whether you’re at Barbuzzo or Little Nonna’s. In fact, I implore you to get them.
Salsiccia pizza
Rigatoni and pork ragu
No Barbuzzo meal is complete without their Caramel Budino. My friend Ellie introduced me to them, and I never looked back

DIM SUM HOUSE

Where: Rittenhouse, 1930 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102

Still dreamin’ about those pork soup dumplings.

Truffle edamame dumplings
Pork soup dumplings
Ginger scallion lobster – this is why I love Restaurant Week
Assortment of desserts – egg custard bao, egg tart and pumpkin tart

MOREA

Where: Midtown Village, 110 S 11th St, Philadelphia, PA 19107 (side note: does anyone in Philly call this area Midtown Village??)

Not pictured: dessert

This restaurant opened just a few months ago, and is sure to be a cocktail hot-spot.

BORA BORA – Brockmans gin, elderflower, butterfly pea tea, lemon, agave, prosecco
Lobster and crab bisque
Braised mussels
Shrimp scampi

Until next time, Restaurant Week!
