Philly Finds Vol. 42 – happy hooolidays

Helloooo friends. I come to you on bended knee with apologies, as it’s been *3 weeks* since the last post. I’ve also been taking a mini-social media break, so posting has been at an all time low around here. Hopefully I’ll make it up to you <3

Some odds and ends:

Most of today’s Philly Finds is dedicated to the beautiful, wonderful, incredible, fantastico Italian restaurants this city has to offer. Perhaps a “best Italian in Philly” dedicated post will come soon? 👀

Miracle on 13th Street

PESTO – 1915 S Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19148

I hope you came hungry. Pesto Ristorante is BYOB but they also have a fully-stocked bar. Owner Concetta (my nana’s name ❤️) will make you feel like you’ve known her forever and that you’re a regular at her restaurant, even if it’s your first time there. One of my favorite holiday past times of the past few years has been having dinner at Peso, followed by Miracle on 13th Street, which is just a short walk away. They are famous for their cavatelli dish (not pictured), which you absolutely must get, along with their chicken parm. I’ve had an aggressive chicken parm craving as of recent, and it was satiated at Pesto.

Tiramisu

Villa di Roma – 936 S. 9th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147

In the Italian Market you’ll find Villa di Roma, which has everything you could want for a classic Sunday dinner. Get an order of garlic bread for the table – trust me. Mangia!

Spaghetti & meatballs, with a side of broccoli rabe (read – the most perfect broccoli rabe I’ve ever had)

Dolce in the W Hotel

Now, this is for your bougie night out. Your “I need to impress X person” night. Your “I need to celebrate XYZ” night. It is certainly pricey, but if you’re looking for a luxurious night out in Center City, look no further.

PAPPARDELLE ALLA BOLOGNESE
PRIMO AMORE PIZZA

Jeni’s Ice Cream Opening

Rejoice, rejoice. Beloved Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream is officially opened in Philly, in Fishtown and Rittenhouse. Last week I had the chance to check out their Fishtown opening, where we had samples and scoops of their many flavors. The ice cream market in Philly is thriving, indeed.

Bellefixe Tartan & Cheer Collection

I have loved partnering with Bellefixe for over a year now, and I’m excited to be sharing some of the items from their Tartan & Cheer Collection. Since I have short hair, I can’t do too many elaborate hairstyles with it, so I rely on accessories for an extra pop. What I like most about Bellefixe is their HAIR CLIPS – they stay in place and don’t fall out (which is like finding needle in a haystack).

If I don’t see you before the holidays, I hope you enjoy yours! This time of year is exceptionally difficult, for many different reasons. We especially miss and mourn our loved ones who have passed on even more, and I can already feel myself preparing for those aches. So with that, sending you lots of love and healing <3
