Long Beach Island Part 2 – Tuckers Tavern

Welcome to Part 2 of the LBI trip with Fearless Restaurants!

The next day I awoke feeling refreshed after a delicious sleep at Daddy O. Our group reconvened and we headed to LBI institution, Tuckers Tavern. It’s an understatement to say that Tuckers is absolutely large and spacious – I truly can’t envision a better beach town restaurant/bar. We took a tour of the restaurant, which is impeccably decorated and evokes a British gastro-pub atmosphere. Think England meets New England, but with a Jersey Shore twist.

We then made our way upstairs to the colorful Buoy Bar rooftop. There we were treated to several appetizers. Now, there are two appetizers I forgot to take photos of, but they were out of this world delectable. One dish was wanton nachos with braised beef, and the other were chicken nachos. I wish I could provide more of a description of both, but wow they were something else. We also had the Buoy Sampler, which consisted of East coast oysters, local clams, peel & eat shrimp, tuna tartar, jumbo shrimp.

The wood bar is the only part of this area of the restaurant that remained after Hurricane Sandy
The rooftop bar overlooks the by, which means prime sunset viewing. Who wouldn’t want to spend a summer night here, I ask you?!
To share or not to share a fishbowl, now that is the question
An insane selection from their raw bar. Tuckers works closely with fisherman to source local seafood
A very hearty Super Frico Caesar salad
Cheers to another wonderful LBI trip!
