Disclosure: This tasting was comp’d. All opinions are my own
- Where: Chaddsford Winery
- Address: 632 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford, PA 19317 (around a 45 minute drive from Phily)
- What: Artisan Series
Had it really been four years since my last visit to Chaddsford Winery (pre-pandemic times?!). Yes, it truly has been that long. This past weekend, I was happy to have returned and join them as they celebrate their 40th anniversary this year. We participated in their Artisan Series (which I believe are booked up for the next few weekends, but fear not as there are many more events coming up!).
The tasting was held in their barrel room, where we were surrounded by them. We settled in at our seats, where we were greeted with five glasses of wine and bites paired with the wines. A savory white with cheese from a local company, robust red that went well with dark chocolate, a sparkling rose that pairs well with spicy foods, and a sweet white with cookies.
Leading us was a bubbly red-head named Emily, who took us through the five “S’s” of wine tasting:
- See
- Swirl
- Sniff
- Sip
- Savor
What I liked about this was while it was educational and informative, we also had plenty of time to chat amongst ourselves. We relaxed, asked questions, and of course savored.
Now I mentioned that they have other events coming up. If you scroll to the bottom of their events page, you’ll see all of the other fun things they have coming up, such as Dog Days and Adult Trick or Treat. Or if you’d prefer to do things on your own, you can always visit and enjoy the winery. There you’ll also find food trucks – they were serving up brick oven pizza when we were there. I would recommend signing up for their email list so you don’t miss anything.

Thank you for having us Chaddsford Winery! <3
