Heyyyyy. It’s been a minute since I’ve dropped a Philly Finds, so I figured I could do a little round-up of some August Philly food news.
Quick links:
- Which item do you want from the Bankroll auction? I call the sushi robot.
- Main Line Bite has officially launched.
- Vinyl opens in Center City.
- Center City Restaurant Week returns this fall.
- Enjoy traditional Nigerian food at Eatwell in Old City.
New Restaurants and Menus:
Post Haste
2519 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19125
First spot on my list to check out. Post Haste is a recently-opened cocktail lounge, which also features a pretty great and varied menu. Looks like it’s going to be a swanky, sexy spot. 😌
Buena Vista
1701 Green St Philadelphia, PA 19130
After an agonizing what-seemed-like-an-eternity, Buena Vista is now open.
Let me back up a bit. Fairmounters will remember the fateful day in 2021 when St. Stephen’s Green, a pub with great eats on 17th and Green, announced it was closing. I quite upset by this news, as St. Stephen’s Green had become a neighborhood comfort.
We all waited with bated breath to see what would replace St. Stephen’s Green. Anytime I met someone else who lived in the neighborhood, I would slip in a “So what do you think is going where St. Stephen’s Green was?”
Finally, we had an answer, and Buena Vista is now officially open. The Mexican restaurant also has locations in Malvern, Wayne, Ardmore and Exton. I can’t wait to check it out soon.
Cafe Lift’s new Philly location
1124 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia.
PLEASE add Cafe Lift’s new location be on your brunch list. I promise you’ll be happy. They moved just around the corner from their original Philly location, and the new, two-story spot is beauitful.
- Serving brunch everyday 8am – 3pm
- BYOB
- No reservations

Toska Restaurant and Brewery in Mount Airy
7136 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19119
Toska opened in Mount Airy back in June, serving brews and wood-fired pizzas, and other menu items influenced by the owners’ Albanian roots. They just began serving brunch and I went the other weekend to check it out. I really don’t know Mount Airy well at all, so it was nice to be in a different area of Philly. I had a great avocado toast, potatoes, and fresh fruit under a heap of whipped cream. And I loved the basil lemonade mocktail, as well.

I hope your summer has been carefree, sun-burnt free, and stress-free. Thank you as always for reading, talk to you soon xo
