Earlier this year, I wrote about my dream destinations for tea. Well, my dreams came true and I was able to visit one of those destinations on our recent trip to London: sketch. sketch is a whimsical and wacky pink paradise where art and fine dining collides. I was beyond excited to finally visit here after I had originally come across it on Visit London, and sketch did not disappoint. Let’s go in, shall we…
We were a hop, skip and a jump away from an amazing afternoon…
Entering the waiting area, we knew we were going to be in for a fun and weird time…right up my alley.
We entered the Gallery and….WOW.
The Gallery is designed by artist David Shrigley, where you can view his 200+ designs along the walls. sketch is definitely as much of an art gallery as it is a fine dining restaurant; there are so many incredible pieces to admire.
An extremely helpful server helped us select our tea and Champagne, and explained each dish to us.

I ordered the rose tea (I went a tad too heavy on the cream) and loved it.
Our tea sandwiches arrived, and they were even better tasting than they looked. Sam and I could not get enough of the coronation chicken sandwich, and ordered even more of those. OH, did I mention the tea sandwiches are refillable??? Yes, you can have as many as you’d like.
Scones and more desserts (!) arrived, and at this point there was no logic for feeling guilty for how much we ate: it was just so good. Seriously, you’ll want to come hungry.
And then there’s the infamous bathroom…
Much like the decor of sketch, the style of those enjoying their tea was very eclectic an fashionable. From sundresses, to jeans with heels, no matter what people wore, they looked fabulous.
If you’re visiting London, you have to do tea, and you should do tea at sketch! Splurge a little, and indulge a lot. Also, make your reservations well in advance! There are other rooms in sketch, so if you want to dine in the “pink room” make your reservation in the Gallery.
