It’s been a month since my last Philly Finds post, which means I’ve had a whole month to gather up some of the best things in Philly to check out (best being solely my opinion 😉 ). Did I deliver? Let’s find out.
But before diving into this post, I wanted to quickly talk about hobbies. Writing, blogging and ~content creating~ are amazing outlets and distractions for me, as much as they are something I take seriously and as a business #sidehustle. Tonight, I’m going to a DIY macrame plant hanger workshop, and I’ve also been experimenting with film photography with a Holga camera I recently purchased for $28. I’ve been trying to hype myself to start taking dance lessons again on a weekly basis, and while I did sign up for a class, I didn’t end up going – whoops. Perhaps the more I write about it, the more inclined I’ll feel to go. All this to say, creative outlets are so darn lovely and important! They allow me to get to know myself better, express my emotions and alleviate stress.
Love the Bottle by Austin Drake
A few weeks ago, I gathered with fellow bloggers at Pinot Boutique in Old City for a lesson in wine tasting by Love the Bottle. Austin Drake started Love the Bottle so wine newbies wouldn’t feel intimidated by wine. I love a glass of Pinot Grigio, but couldn’t tell you much about it other than how I love the taste. We tasted six different wines, which Austin went into detail about. The class was fun, educational without being pretentious and I left learning that I enjoy Grüner Veltliner – who knew! If you’re interested in attending an upcoming event, check out his website here. Remember, wine is made from grapes, grapes are fruit, and fruit is good for you.

Dim Sum House by Jane G in Rittenhouse

I went to the grand re-opening of Jane Guo and Jackson Fu’s Dim Sum House by Jane G’s last week. Dim Sum House’s menu will be a combination of Shanghai Style Dim Sum (soup dumplings) and Cantonese Style Dim Sum (a la carte style instead of the push carts). On top of Shanghai and Cantonese dim sum, Dim Sum House in Rittenhouse will also feature dishes from the Jiang Nan region of China including noodles, entrees, fried rice and soups. We tasted samplings of several dishes and cocktails and left pleasantly plump. If and when you do go, be sure to order the scallion pancakes.
Thank you for having Positive Publicity there!

Patty Boyle Massage and Yoga
The older I get, the more I appreciate just how pain-free my back was in my youth. Am I borderline decrepit? Possibly. My wonderful boyfriend got us massages by Patty Boyle in Chestnut Hill….and wow. All of my knots, tension, stress went immediately out her studio window. She is pure magic and absolutely worth visiting. She also teaches yoga, check her out.
From my walks around Philly…

And now for something completely different…

I finally hopped aboard the Glossier train (wow, their advertising is effective), and purchased their best-selling Milky Jelly Cleanser, Priming Moisturizer and Balm dotcom. Right off the bat, I’m a fan of the Milky Jelly Cleanser. I think my next purchase will be the very-hyped Boy Brow, I just need someone to come through and tell me if it’s worth it.
I could be wrong – please forgive me if I’m wrong – but I’m pretty sure you get 15% off your first order. I’m such a good blogger!

These faux leather bad boys from Nasty Gal are on sale right now!

Since Philly Finds is an ongoing series, you can always let me know if there’s something more you want to see here 😉
